Three glasses of Gambero Rosso to our Oro di Emèra

Our Oro di Eméra among the best wines of Italy for the Gambero Rosso 2022 guide
Our Oro di Eméra among the best wines in Italy for the Gambero Rosso 2022 guide. Oro di Emèra, Primitivo DOP 2020, produced in the Tenute Emèra cellar in Lizzano, in fact received the prestigious Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso, which places in the ranking of the best in Puglia.
As Apulians we are doubly happy, because this recognition comes after the various 3 Glasses awarded over the years to the Irpinia wines of our Sanpaolo cellar in Campania: receiving it now also for our Primitivo di Manduria gives us a double joy.
AN IMPORTANT RECOGNITION
The Gambero Rosso Three Glasses are certainly a recognition of the work done, but also an incentive to continue on the path traced. But it is also an opportunity to shine a further light on the production areas, with beneficial effects therefore also in terms of wine tourism. Last but not least, it is also the spring of a virtuous circle in which all producers, award-winning and not, feel motivated to make good wines.
JAMBLE OR NON-QUALITY WINES
Be careful, however, because there is the risk that this virtuous circle could be interrupted by those who persist in making "pleasing" wines or worse, non-quality wines. In fact, it is Primitivo, in its two variants, Primitivo di Manduria and di Gioia del Colle, that takes the lion's share of the regional ranking from which wines "with a sweet tone far beyond the traditional softness" have been excluded, as he underlined the same guide. A trend that intercepts those international palates that still survive and that prefer "marmalade" wines which, however, move away from the identity of the vine but also of the territory. Primitivo was born as a table wine and therefore must have good acidity and, despite its complexity and structure, a certain lightness. Primitivo is the spearhead of Apulian production: unfortunately, however, there are those who, taking advantage of the fame painstakingly obtained with seriousness and a lot of work, place bottles on the market with excessively low prices, even under 2 euros. It is no longer tolerable, because the very low quality of these bottles diminishes the real value of the wine, with disastrous effects on the territories.
HEAVY BOTTLES
Although our Gold is still in heavy bottles, Gambero Rosso's invitation to use lighter bottles should be accepted. Unfortunately, in the perception of some markets, a heavy bottle is equivalent to high quality wine, so I believe that as a Consortium we must move towards a collective initiative towards choices more suited to sustainability and environmental protection.
