The Treasure of Tenute Eméra

Oro di Eméra DOP 2020, our award-winning wine with Three Glasses from Gambero Rosso 2023, is a true gem among our wines. It has achieved this prestigious recognition and is the flagship wine of Tenute Eméra, a winery dedicated to excellence.

Oro di Eméra is exclusively produced from prized Primitivo di Manduria DOP grapes. This native red berry variety of Puglia is among the most appreciated in the world for its smoothness and versatility. The grapes come from an ideal area, close to the sea: a soil that is partly limestone and partly sandy, providing a solid nutritional foundation and excellent drainage, while the sea breeze refreshes the vineyards even on the hottest days.

Its name evokes the warm colors of the sunset over the Ionian Sea, the golden reflection that paints the sky and the vineyard, and much more. Oro di Eméra is, in fact, a wine symbolically destined to bring richness to its land, representing a true rebirth of the South. Production curiosity: In 2020, we produced about 200 quintals of grapes for this wine, equivalent to 30,000 bottles of this prestigious wine. The grape maceration lasted about 20 days, and 20% of the product was vinified complete with stems, capable of transferring a certain amount of tannins to the wine.
